About your session
The first step to booking a session is to work together to figure out the perfect location as well as date and time that works best for you. This is where I also love to hear about any ideas and/or visions you have for your special session.
Getting to know you
For couples/individuals: As a photographer, I work with a wide variety of people and personalities. Sometimes I have clients who feel absolutely comfortable and confident in front of a camera, while others are shy and not sure what to expect. I would love to hear about you, what you like or don't like and how I may help you feel your best during your session!

For families with littles: Children can be the most fun as well as the most challenging to photograph at times. Please do not worry or stress about your little ones behavior. As a mother, I am well aware of the ups and downs and am prepared to work as much magic as I can to help capture those perfect images. When working with children, I like to first introduce myself and help them become accustomed to me and my camera. You will see me come down to their level and if old enough, ask their name, what they like to do, maybe a favorite food, toy, animal, etc. I find that they love seeing what a camera can do, so oftentimes I will ask to take a quick photo of them and let them see on my camera their beautifully smiling face. Kids love this and I find that it excites them and gets them more engaged during sessions. While I cannot guarantee that your little will be smiling in every photo, I will do my best to make sure they have a happy and positive experience!
Older Children
When it comes to older children, I tend to follow the same techniques to help them become comfortable with me and the session. I like to capture images of children in their natural states and often will let them lead the session while I snap pictures here and there while they laugh, dance, play, etc. So if they are being crazy or wild, let them be. I also ask for a little space during photos with them as children like to please their parents and often look to you for direction instead of hearing what I need from them. Don't worry though, by space, I mean just a few feet. I want you and them completely comfortable, so if they need you within arms reach, then I am perfectly content with whatever they need.

What to Wear
Having professional photos done is an investment in time and money as well as your future. Picking outfits that photograph well are important no matter the session type. For family sessions, I recommend coordinating colors by tones and not necessarily the same color. This allows for a beautiful contrast between subjects that looks soft and makes the photograph as well as the subjects blend and flow nicely. Please use caution with stripes, plaids, logos and brands or words on your clothing. These can often be a distraction from you/your families natural beauty! Pick something that you feel confident and comfortable in, whether it be casual or dressy. Oh, and never be afraid to go barefoot!

More detailed info on what to wear can be found under the "What to wear" tab above!

Little under the weather??
If you or someone in your session has come down with an illness, please message me as soon as possible to reschedule. As a mother, and well, a fellow human, I understand that illnesses happen! I want everyone feeling wonderful during your session, and lets face it, getting out and about with a cold can be very exhausting and not so fun!

Did your little, or you, receive a bump or bruise, or maybe you have a teen that has developed a blemish and is "freaking out" about having photos taken? Do not worry! Minor retouching of such areas is included in my package pricing!

My turn: Getting to know me
As a photographer, I enjoy capturing those moments that are more candid and real. I have more of a lifestyle/documentary approach. So, while we will get those great posed shots of everyone facing the camera with their best smiles on, do not worry if you see me with my camera up snapping those photos of you helping your little up onto a bench, or your husband brushing the hair from your face. These in between moments are what made me become a photographer. These moments are where the laughter is real and the love is strong!
